Spoilers, Top Story

DC Comics and Urban Legends #5 Spoilers and Review follows.

WildC.A.T.S Debut…

…New Villain Cheer…

…Batgirls and More!

We open with a creators’ credits page…

…which continues at end of the issue.

First story involves Red Hood and…

…Batman being confronted by Cheer and his henchman Mister Freeze.

Looks like Cheer plans to drug Batman with his cheerdrops drug!

Red Hood is trying to find Batman and finds a link to the pharmaceuticals that are in the cheerdrops.

The book ends with…

…Cheer beginning to make good on his drugging threat-promise!

We then have a Batgirls story that…

…introduces someone codednamed Wildcard which appears to be Ryan Wilder who is the CW’s Batwoman.

Then we have Tim Drake, still not called Robin, but with an “R” on his uniform on…

…a dangerous mission.

Finally, the last story featuring Grifter…

…culminates with the debut of the WildC.A.T.S…

…who help Grifter fend of the armed attackers.

The WildC.A.T.S. also have what they need from Lucius Fox, unknowing to him, as the WildC.A.T.S. depart, Grifter leaves and Batman and Nightwing arrive late.

The Pulse:

I’m curious what’s next for Time Drake, in terms of where his journey of self-discovery will take him including as to what his code name will be, plus what’s next for the WildC.A.T.S. Batgirls will get a back-up feature in the main Batman series in October 2021. I hope we’ll see a Cheer and Joker confrontation in the latter’s title, but we’ll see. An overall entertaining issue. 8 out of 10.
