DC Comics & Justice League #65 Spoilers & Review: Lois Lane’s Brother, Checkmate Collision, Deathstroke(s) & Justice League Dark?!

Spoilers

DC Comics and Justice League #65 Spoilers and Review follows.

Lois Lane’s Brother, Checkmate Collision, Deathstroke(s) and…

…Justice League Dark?!

We open with a storyline catch-up and dramatis personae page.

Black Canary is upset that Green Arrow is tangled in with the new Checkmate.

Despite that, they appear to be stalked by Daemon Rose…

…who alleges he’s Lois Lane’s brother.

They are all attacked by Deathstroke!

Elsewhere, the rest of the Justice League battle…

…the Synmar with…

…the help of the Wonder Twins.

However, despite all those super-heroes…

…they were not enough to defeat the Synmar!

However, THAT is not the end.

The end is that this person is not Deathstroke and we know from future solicitations that there are multiple ‘Strokes?!

The back-up story features Justice League Dark…

…with Batman and…

…main Justice League teammate Aquaman joins the party.

The Pulse:

A lot going in this issue. I enjoyed the Checkmate diversion with Daemon Rose, Deathstroke, etc., but I remain unimpressed with the Synmar back to his/their introduction in Brian Bendis’ Superman run. Art was solid on both the main and back-up stories. Cool to see more icons in the JLD story too. 6.5 out of 10.
