The Pulse:

An intriguing end to arc that I thought would have gone differently. Solid art too. 7 out of 10.

Looks like the Two-Face Bizarro amalgam that is Bruce Wayne, who has kidnapped his evil mother Martha Wayne, is confronted by a Batman who is also Bruce Wayne.

In an interesting fashion, Martha’s life is spared.

The commotion allows Robin, Batman’s teen sidekick Dick Grayson, to put the dampening collar back on the behemoth so he can returned to prison as…

The Pulse:

I was confused why DC even released an annual for a series that is ending. It also seems that while the arc ended in Batman / Superman #21 last week that the annual allowed DC to go back to these two worlds one more time. Eh. Mixed bag on art; didn’t like style of the Superman 1/2 of the annual, but the Batman 1/2 art was strong.  Not clear why this annual was necessary even after reading it. 4 out of 10.

Batman / Superman #22 marks end of this series and is on shelves September 28, 2021.

The solicitation for that series finale issue is here.
