Marvel Comics & S.W.O.R.D. #8 Spoilers & Review follows.

Intergalactic Political Intrigue?!

Gladiator Style!

The book includes a storyline catch-up, dramatis personae and creators credits page.

This issue focused less on S.W.O.R.D., but on Arakko’s – a renamed planet Mars – Regent Storm.

She is challenged by intergalactic neighbors near and far…

…without breaking a sweat.

Arakko’s Council seems to have similar political issues to Krakoa’s Quiet Council.

The Arakko Council is diverse and…

…overtly hostile.

No real guile here.

Storm makes an open challenge to her lippy Councilmate who seemingly changes her DNA…

…which proves only an irritant to Storm who stabs him and…

…bluffs a yield out of him!

The Pulse:

I’m a sucker for political intrigue and this book had some as well as intergalactic diplomacy gladiator style. Storm was a strong enough character to focus this issue on, but I did miss S.W.O.R.D.  I the art was ok, but I wasn’t in love with all on the Council character designs. Entertaining issue. 7 out of 10.
