News, Spoilers

DC Comics and Robin 2021 Annual #1 Spoilers and Review follows.

Batman Hacked By Son…

…For Fight Advantage?!

This is an interesting issue that features Robin getting intel on his Lazarus Island opponents including Flatline.

She is a Russian who…

…inherited the powers of her recently deceased murdering grandfather…

…including turning pale in protecting her family who abandon her.

She seeks mentoring of Japan’s Lord Death Man…

…who offers it culminating with…

…Flatline’s participation in the Lazarus Island tournament.

She can gain the knowledge and powers of the dead and Robin wonders if that power extended to her fellow combatants who have a few lives to kill literally on the island.

Robin learns that Batman has all of the combatants catalogued somehow.

That allows readers to learn about Black Swan.

XXL.

The Drenched.

The same can’t be said for ReSpawn, but…

…we learn fellow competitor Ravager is after him as he or she seemingly stole and is using her deceased brother’s OG Ravager tech and gear.

We learn a bit about Hawke who does have a DC lineage as known by long-time readers.

The main story ends with Robin ready for what’s next.

The book’s epilogue involves…

…Leviathan leader Talia Al Ghul confronting her father and Batman foil Ra’s Al Ghul.

The Pulse:

A fun issue that is part of a fun series with solid story an art. Entertaining. 8 out of 10.
