Marvel Comics and Amazing Spider-Man #81 Spoilers and Review follows.

Where Is Peter Parker?

Can Ben Reilly and Miles Morales…

…Co-Exist?

We open with a storyline catch-up page with creators’ credits.

We learn of the next threat the Beyond Corporation will send Ben Reilly as the trademarked Spider-Man against.

It’s called Rhizome and it’s a confrontation that will likely mean Miles Morales as the Spider-Man of Brooklyn will show up allow Ben to enforce (whatever that means) the Spider-Man TM.

Ben gets their too late, but…

…the confrontation with Miles happens.

Miles is impetuous and they fight through which Ben tells him Peter is in a bad away on the hospital.

They apparently have met before, briefly, in the 2018 Spider-Geddon event.

The come to a détente to track down and defeat Rhizome; in case you’re wondering what a Rhizome is, it is also known as a “creeping rootstalk, horizontal underground plant stem capable of producing the shoot and root systems of a new plant.”

The book ends with the Beyond Corporation unhappy Ben did not enforce the TM with Miles Morales, but also teasing that the one-time Superior Spider-Man, Dr. Otto Octavius aka Doctor Octopus, is sniffing around about the organization; it looks like Beyond may also have been behind Rhizome?!

The Pulse:

An action-packed issue, but with a bit too much talky talk. The book had lots of Ben and Miles, but no Peter. Awesome art. I’m still curious what Beyond’s endgame and fate are. An entertaining issue. 7 out of 10.
