Demythifying A Who’s Who Of Cross-Generational Wrestling Opponents During Brock Lesnar’s 20 Year Wrestling Career In WWE, NJPW, Etc.!

In his 20 years in professional wrestling / sports entertainment Lesnar has faced an impressive mix of Hall of Famers and icons. He debuted in WWE 2002, left in 2004, went to Japan from 2005 to 2007, and eventually returned to WWE in 2012 as a part-time main event attraction which continues to this day.

Icons he has fought, some multiple times and some only once, include the following.

  • Hulk Hogan

  • Ric Flair

  • The Rock

  • Undertaker

  • Goldberg

  • John Cena

  • Eddie Guerrero

  • Kurt Angle

  • CM Punk

  • Daniel Bryan / Bryan Danielson

  • Roman Reigns

  • Bobby Lashley

  • Yuji Nagata

  • Shinsuke Nakamura

  • Akebono

There are others too like…

  • Kane
  • Triple H
  • Rey Mysterio
  • Chris Jericho
  • Chris Benoit
  • RVD
  • JBL
  • Kevin Owens
  • AJ Styles
  • Finn Balor
  • Seth Rollins
  • Dean Ambrose / Jon Moxley
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Samoa Joe
  • Cain Velasquez…

…and others, but the above list shows the impressive cross-generational main event endurance of Brock Lesnar.  Some dream matches don’t need to be video game based as they actually happened.

And, NO, while he was scheduled to take on Stone Cold Steve Austin on Raw no less, with no build whatsoever, it never came to pass which is another long story for another time.

And, YES, he did face his long-time University of Minnesota collegiate wrestling friend, one-time roommate, OVW tag team partner in the Minnesota Wrecking Crew, and the Godfather of his daughter, Shelton Benjamin at WWE No Way Out 2003, but it was trios match with Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Hass) vs. Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit and Edge.

Who do you think are Lesnar’s most impressive opponents of the last 20 years?
