Marvel Comics Teasing New Thunderbolts Series Spinning Out Of Devil’s Reign Event!

Thunderbolts debuted in 1997 in The Incredible Hulk #449 (January 1997) before debuting in their own series.

It’s first issue reveal remains the best surprise cliffhanger in comic book history.

From 1997 to 2016 there were several different versions of the Thunderbolts in their own series or as a team in the in the Marvel Universe popping into other titles.

In the 2010’s, Winter Soldier has been associated with and has led the team.

In more recent times, the Thunderbolts have had Spider-Man villain Rhino and Avengers foe Taskmaster front and center.

Two recent events, King in Black and Devil’s Reign has featured the team as working for the Mayor of New York Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin.

They have even headlined their own Devil’s Reign mini-series called Villains for Hire (a nod to Marvel’s classic Heroes for Hire), but called Thunderbolts in the core series.

Well, the above teaser reveals that a form of the Thunderbolts are returning in 2022 and its a mystery roster for now, but no Rhino or Taskmaster it would seem from the silhouettes.

Maybe a Citizen V could return?
