WWE Bloodbath 2022 Wave 3 Sees Almost 20 Exits In First 2 Months Of The Year!

This is a regular activity by WWE particularly during the pandemic; context from previous years:

The numbers are likely higher in both years due to corporate office exits that are not wholly publicized.

The 2022 wave of exits so far are below.

Wave 3 sees two (2) exits.

Carlos Cabrera (62 years old) Spanish play-by-play commentator was released after 30 years with WWE. Just days later he joined AAA Rey de Reyes commentary team.

Cesaro (41 year old Claudio Castagnoli) did not come to an agreement with WWE over a new contract and his latest contract expired this week. As his contract reached its natural end he does not have a 90 day no-compete clause and can show at any promotion he would like as early as this week. It is being reported that WWE did offer Cesaro a contract, but it was declined as it appears to have similar to his previous contract. It is also being reported that he could still re-sign with WWE unless he finds a new home promotion elsewhere. Cesaro was well liked by his peers and is said to have been professional in his exit with the door to return to WWE open.

Cesaro is by far one of the talents that fans had wanted WWE to push, certainly a few years when the Cesaro Section was all the rage, but WWE balked and now Cesaro walked. Cesaro’s WWE accomplishments including:

  • WWE / Raw Tag Team Champion (5 times)
  • Smackdown Tag Team Champion (2 times)
  • WWE United States Champion (1 time)
  • Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner (inaugural winner)

Cesaro signed with WWE in 2011 after a successful run on the indies including in ROH. Hoping that whatever is next for the Swiss Superman / Swiss Cyborg that he gets what deserves monetarily, creatively and fulfilment wise; he deserves it more than most.

Another wave of exits is expected around or after Wrestlemania as in previous years.
