“BEYOND” NEARS ITS END! WHAT IS BEHIND DOOR Z?! Ben makes his way to the same place Miles Morales was last at, and he is nowhere to be found. Just door after door of true horrors. Any door’s resident could kill Spider-Man, but Door Z’s might just destroy the whole city!

Ben Reilly and Peter Parker team-up…

…to try to corral Beyond Corporation’s Staten Island “projects”.

However, Ben is still grappling with the holes in his memory from Beyond’s memory wipe.

Fortunately, the Daughters of the Dragon arrive to lend a hand and they too turn their back on the Beyond Corporation.

More projects are corralled..

…as Door Z looms large.

Ben decides he will open Door Z regardless of what’s behind it.

Beyond boss Maxine Danger is stunned that he’s doing it and he warns her he’s coming for her.

That requires betraying Peter and the Daughters who now have to deal with what’s behind Door Z as Ben escapes after Maxine.

Turns out what’s behind Door Z is a monstrously mutated Doctor Curt Connors aka the Lizard.

The Pulse:

You can feel the epic climax and end to the Beyond storyline coming. Glad to see Peter Parker and Ben Reilly team-up until the betrayal. The Door Z revelation was a bit bland for me. The Lizard is an iconic Spidey villain, but I was hoping for a more epic villain behind that door or a hero that was monsterized; perhaps the Prowler? Anyhow, the new look of the Lizard is menacing and he does appear to remain a tragic figure.  Curious about the next few issues. 8 out of 10.
