Justice League Dark crossover conclusion! Another full double-size issue crossover spectacular as Xanadoth, the original Lord of Chaos, has returned. With unlimited power and revenge against all on its mind, the Lord of chaos has taken the form of Black Adam and no. One. Is. Safe. The final chapter of the Eisner-winning Bendis Justice League run wraps up with brand-new status quo for all!

The majority of this issue are both the Justice League and Justice League Dark…

…battling Xanadoth, the original Lord of Chaos, in another realm.

Naturally, Naomi channels the powers of Doctor Fate, a Lord of Order, to win the day for both teams.

The book ends with a bit of humor as the teams respond to a trouble alert as…

…as the issue ends on a team shot heading into the next danger.

Next up is Death of the Justice League in the Justice League #75 series finale in stores on April 19, 2022.

It is followed by the Dark Crisis event:

The Pulse:

It doesn’t feel like it, but writer Brian Michael Bendis was only on the Justice League for 15 issues as his run started with Justice League #59. He’s had various artists with him on that journey including a Justice League Dark back-up written by Ram V until this final three issue arc where both teams had to team-up.

Was surprised that the main cover to this ending of his run didn’t include a team feature instead of Black Adam despite me being a mark for the character. So, I used the David Marquez penciled wraparound variant cover to Bendis’ first issue of his run as the banner.

Bendis’ run started with such promise, include some interesting team member choice like Black Adam and Hippolyta, but it ends in an ignominious fashion with another issue with the character he co-created Naomi playing at outsized role. Decent art, but an overall unsatisfying issue. 3 out of 10.
