Keep your friends close and your enemies closer! Things have never been easy for Booster and Beetle as they set out on their new business venture where no job is too small, but now a threat from within threatens to bring everything crashing down. A virus has hit the servers at Blue & Gold Restoration, and it could delete our heroes for good!

Looks like the Black Beetle has made is play by continuing to toy with Blue and Gold, but revealing himself nonetheless as the one behind their misfortune in this series.

Naturally, a physical fight follows the cerebral one.

This culminates with the battle in…

…prehistoric times?!

During the battle its revealed that the Black Beetle is Booster Gold aka Michael Carter.

It appears to be an alternate Earth’s Booster Gold not an alternate timeline’s.

In the end, Blue and Gold defeat Black Beetle who in turn naturally escapes as our titular duo return to the present and money troubles of the broke kind.

However, Batman has gotten Bruce Wayne to give them the funds they need to continue their work as a way to right the wrong of the Justice League choosing not to allow Booster Gold to join them while Blue Beetle was ok to.

The book ends with the team together and the promise of more to come.

The Pulse:

Another fun issue, but this one felt consequential. Solid art. Curious if we’ll see Blue and Gold during Dark Crisis. An entertaining read. 8 out of 10.
