THE DOOM OF ALL DOOMS!

All we know about the leader of the new Multiversal Masters of Evil is that he calls himself Doom Supreme and that universe after universe keeps crumbling before him. But in a multiverse filled with world-conquering versions of Victor Von Doom, what makes this one the Doom Above All?

32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99

The Man-Thing Avengers  of Earth 91 are…

…easily defeated by the Multiversal Masters of Evil.

While the rest of his team squabble over the planetary spoils, Doom Supreme does not.

We also learn that he got what he needed from this planet and that he’s made no claims on any other planet or Earth that the Multiversal Masters of Evil have conquered.

Doom Supreme leaves his team to attend to his captive Man-Thing.

A Doctor Doom and Man-Thing hybrid that calls itself Doom-Thing that Doom Supreme plans to break…

…in a rather violent and macabre fashion.

We learn of Doom Supreme’s origins, his broken heart, his grotesque armor and…

…how he assumed the mantle of Doctor Strange’s Sorcerer Supreme as well…

…how he went from conquering multiversal Avengers to a parallel challenge of taking down multiversal Doctor Dooms.

Doom Supreme either breaks the multiversal Doctor Dooms, so they follow him, or he kills them.

Doom-Thing is broken, cuts out his own tongue upon order, and falls in line behind Doom Supreme; I assume that all of the subservient Doctor Dooms are equally tongueless.

The book ends with another cool multiversal revelation that Doom Supreme is or has conquered Doom the Loving Planet.

Considering on the prime Marvel Earth 616 that sentient planet is called Ego and this whole issue showed Doom Supreme’s ego on fill display and a key motivator for the Multiversal Masters of Evil’s leader.

The book ends with a index of all the multiversal Avengers from Avengers Forever #5 several months ago.

Above is the textless virgin Avengers Forever #1 cover and below is the final version.

The Pulse:

Another fascinating issue, but I missed the multiversal Avengers team. Doom Supreme is strong character and his compelling journey carried the book and sustained most readers’ attention. The art was more cartoony than expected, but did provide a nice contrast to the darker story and actually worked for the issue. 7 out of 10.
