The book opens with Computo running down what happened over the last two issues before we see Gold Lantern in the present communicating with the Justice League and Legion of Super-Heroes in the future via a Great Darkness rift in time.

Together the teams learn that the Justice League’s recent battle with a time villain in Epoch may be a contributing factor for this anamoly.

Epoch has warned the Justice League about the Gold Lantern and encouraged them to destroy his ring if their paths cross.

Every member of the Justice League and Legion of Super-Heroes that were present have been swallowed up by the anomaly except for Batman who is now joined by Chameleon who together with Computo are trying to figure out what just happened.

Turns out that groupings of the Justice League and Legion of Super-Heroes have been scattered through time including to Kamandi’s future which seems to be scarred by Leviathan’s technology.

As well Batman Beyond’s future.

Curious of Aquaman and Ultraboy are stuck in Kamandi’s future or the prehistoric past?

The book ends with Gold Lantern shocked.

Wondering what is going on and what role he’s inadvertently playing in it.

The Pulse:

The strength of the issue is the art, which is wonderfully dynamic, as well as the characterization, particularly around Batman and Gold Lantern. The plot and overall story remain compelling as DC’s big 2022 event includes a Great Darkness, first referenced in LOSH lore, and leaves me wondering of the (Great) Darkness in this series will eventually tie this book into Dark Crisis. A drawback of the issue remains the heavy scripting when the art really can and does say more. Still and intriguing and entertaining issue. 7 out of 10.
