Witness the birth of the new DC Multiverse!

Spinning out of the pages of TheFlash, the heroes have learned the secret of Pariah’s new worlds—but at what cost does this knowledge come, and what can they even do with this information—or even worse, perhaps Pariah and the Great Darkness want them to know…? On Earth-Zero, Deathstroke continues to move forward with his plans to erase legacy heroics once and for all, while Jon Kent, Nightwing, and the ragtag group of youngsters rally to step up to the increasing number of challenges. The event of the year rages on!

Looks like the Barry Allen Flash is back and saves the Hal Jordan Green Lantern, sans power ring, from John Stewart Green Lantern’s “world” created by Pariah.

We then get a bit of a recap in the Hall of Justice of what’s been going on the last three issues of this event.

Elsewhere, Deathstroke, poisoned by the Pariah with the Great Darkness, leads the Secret Society of Super-Villains against the Legion of Doom.

Elsewhere, it appears that the Flash and Green Lantern traversed to the Batman World and find their Batman.

The young super-heroes try to locate Zatanna and the Justice League Dark (JLD).

They find two Swamp Things instead (I must have missed something somewhere in the last 6-12 months about this development).

Cool to see one of the Swamp Thing’s acknowledge the first Crisis on Infinite Earths and his/its engagement with Alexander Luthor.

The battle between the Legion of Doom and the Secret Society of Super-Villains aka Deathstroke Inc. rages on.

However, we don’t get a fair fight between Lex Luthor and Deathstroke as Prometheus poisons LL with the Great Darkness.

Pariah continues to scheme using the “fuel” from his Worlds without a Justice League.

That results in the birth of a new multiverse!

The hand of creation is no longer Krona, but Pariah now?!

A Dark Crisis tie-in: the search for Barry Allen! Just when the speedsters seem to have snapped Barry out of Pariah’s clutches, Wallace seems to be falling in… and the creator of Barry’s mind prisons isn’t about to let the team of speedsters just run off. And even if they could, where exactly would they run to…?

The Dark Crisis tie-in storyline races to its conclusion!

Linda Park enters the Speed Force, with her own inexplicable speed, to find her husband Wally West and her kids.

The kids seem to have found a world where the Flash is Batman.

There’s another world that Max Mercury and Jesse Quick find that has a Flash that is like Mad Max.

Then we got to Wallace West Kid Flash’s World without a Justice League.

Elsewhere, Linda Park finds the world Wally West is on and lays hands on a Barry Allen.

The Justice Society of America (JSA) Flash take on the Flash Batman.

However, he realizes that he’s an ally not enemy.

He leaves with the West kids.

Elsewhere, the Mad Max Flash tale comes to a conclusion.

That leaves Team Flash with their next assignment.

That is to free Wallace West from his world.

They do and both Wally West and Barry Allen are reunited!

They arrive home with everyone else that entered the Speed Force looking for him.

This appears to lead into Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #4 which, as the preceding chronicling shows, does include Barry Allen joining the fray.

When Pariah and his forces of the Great Darkness laid waste to the most powerful superheroes of all time, all hope was lost…but the spirit of the Justice League can never truly die. John Stewart takes flight to defend his planet as the Emerald Knight of Justice alongside allies Red Hood and the blind prophet Kyle Rayner!

Plus: Hawkgirl takes to the skies in her own unique world!

Where there’s life there’s hope, and with that hope comes a deeper unraveling of the tapestry of the DCU’s biggest event of 2022!

These one-shots have been a mixed bag.

I like the effort to elaborate on these Worlds without a Justice League.

We get some cool stories that reveal more about the character of their MIA Justice League leads.

However, the stories have no relevance to the main Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths narrative.

That is the same for a world where John Stewart, the one-time Green Lantern and Emerald Knight, is a Guardian.

The back-up features Kendra Saunders as Hawkgirl.

We explore her World without a Justice League and its just as cotton candy as the main John Stewart tale.

Dark Crisis: Worlds Without A Justice League – Wonder Woman #1 Spoilers follow.

When Pariah and his forces of the Great Darkness laid waste to the most powerful superheroes of all time, all hope was lost…until now. To power his weapons of war, Pariah has captured each member of the Justice League and trapped them on worlds suited to their every dream and desire…while the planets themselves slowly eat away at their respective inhabitants. As Wonder Woman begins a new chapter in her life, Pariah has uprooted her to a reality he controls—how will the Amazon Princess adapt?

Also, Dan Watters and Brandon Peterson combine forces for a noir tale featuring Martian Manhunter!

Where there’s life there’s hope, and with that hope comes a deeper unraveling of the tapestry of the DCU’s biggest event of 2022!

The Wonder Woman Worlds without a Justice League suffers the same relevance issue that the other one-shots do.

In her world Etta Candy is President of the United States.

Candy also becomes an honorary Amazon.

Its a tale that finds Wonder Woman realizing the Amazons, led by her mother, are embracing Man’s World.

Well, the weaponry of Man’s World anyway.

She is at odds with her people who have enslaved and tortured Dr. Psycho.

We get a bit of a recap of what’s transpired through Dr. Psycho’s eyes.

Compelled by Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth.

The Amazon’s as a whole depart and Wonder Woman chooses to stay to protect Man’s World.

It’s a decision she is not sure whether she regrets or not.

The back-up tale involves Martian Manhunter.

We see his inner struggle.

Trying to reconcile reality and this World without a Justice League.

A fine story on art, but not meaningful or relevant like the other one-shots and their back-up’s too.

Dark Crisis: Young Justice #3 (Of 6) Spoilers follow.

Sins of the old! In response to their lack of gratitude, the world holding Superboy, Impulse, and Tim Drake captive has brought back the three villains who have caused them the most pain to keep them in their place: Deathstroke, Captain Boomerang, and Lex Luthor. Old wounds will open. Wonder Girl and her search team will have to hurry up before there’s no Young Justice left to save!

The Young Justice Dark Crisis tie-in mini-series had promise.

However, its unclear how it ties into Dark Crisis.

This appears to be a World without a Justice League.

However, it’s one seemingly set in the 1990’s.

The Young Justice members from Earth Prime or Earth 0, the main Earth, are Robin, Superboy and Impulse.

They realize something is amiss with this world’s Wonder Girl.

She tries to manipulate the boys separately.

We see her efforts on each with a snap to end each exchange.

She still doesn’t reveal herself as Mikey Mxyzptlk.

However, she / he / it makes their presence felt.

All the super-heroes of the 1990’s are pitted against Young Justice!

Next up is Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #5 (of 7) in stores on October 4, 2022.
