The Clockwork Killer’s identity is finally revealed as the dust settles after the showdown at Arkham Asylum. But as we learn the truth behind how the Clockwork Killer came to be, Thomas is faced with a reality-altering choice!

On the main Earth, we open with a few pages, set post Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths, that explains a little bit about what the Great Darkness is / was as well as reveals the Justice League’s return.

There’s further scholarly discussion of the “space” crises that threatened the Omniverse as well as the “time” crises within hypertime.

It is an interesting TV interview that brings the whole world into understanding the threats they have been under from various space and time crises.

It’s then revealed by a returned-to-life Ra’s Al Ghul to the Bruce Wayne Batman the secrets of the Time Masters and more.

Then on the Flashpoint World, a hypertime timeline manifestation, that the Clockwork Killer is none other than the Thomas Wayne Batman’s wife Martha Wayne as a new Joker?!

She has been manipulating this timeline’s Two-Face who is Gilda Dent the mother of seemingly current Thomas Wayne ward, and a sidekick-in-training, Dexter Dent?!

The Flashpoint Batman comes to save Dexter, and we get a cool broken glass hypertime effect, with Batman wondering why his thought-to-be-dead wife is Clockwork Killer and actually killing people; she teases that he’ll soon find out and he does after a painful stabbing.

She has a Legion of Super-Heroes Time Bubble and can travel through time and explains she killed the people that she felt could change the timeline back from the Flashpoint she had recreated.

Surprisingly, she wants to travel back in time with her husband so that they die and their son Bruce lives while on the main Earth that Bruce Wayne is being confronted by the Time Masters over his timeline plan?!

Next up is the series finale in Flashpoint Beyond #6.

The blockbuster shocking conclusion to the Gold Lantern Saga. Which legendary DC Villain is behind this great darkness that is about to destroy all the ages of heroes all at once? Find out right here all this AND the future of the Legion of Super-Heroes is revealed!

The book opens in the Wild West with Vandal Savage, the immortal villain behind the Great Darkness threat to the preeminent super-heroes teams of two times, gloating over incarcerating Batman, yes, THAT Batman!

Batman asked him how he did it and his gloating goes to another level claiming he’s smarter than Batman! While we have a Jonah Hex and fisticuffs interlude, Savage continues to tell Batman that even the Great Darkness threat that he initiated didn’t happen now in this new timeline.

Vandal Savage and readers soon learn his prisoner is NOT the Batman causing quite a stir. We then get the Legion of Super-Heroes’ Brainiac 5 responding to Vandal Savage “how” query with a callback to what Savage had said to “Batman” namely that he’s smarter than Savage.

Later, apparently in the 32nd Century, Vandal Savage is trapped in the Gold Lantern’s ring and we find out this limited series has been a ruse to get him to confess on multiple levels to his time crime?!

He is called before the Elders of Oa who seemingly sentence him to death despite him not recognizing their authority.

However, these pages were a ruse as well to have Vandal Savage reveal the source of his Great Darkness which turns out to be a power ring that he tries to use to escape and take on and out the Gold Lantern.

The Justice League and Legion of Super-Heroes converge on Vandal Savage, but it’s the Gold Lantern that ultimately defeats him.

However, he may have killed Savage in the process?!

The adventure ends, but not before the two teams celebrate.

However, Vandal Savage may not be dead as writer Brian Michael Bendis time with DC Comics appears over.
