Over 20 years ago, Stan Lee reimagined the entire DC Universe. A criminal turned nocturnal warrior for justice, a champion from the Brazilian Amazon, an intergalactic lawman, and more sprang to existence from Stan’s mind with the help of Michael Uslan. To celebrate the legendary comic book icon’s 100th birthday, dive into 10 new adventures featuring his version of the DC Universe! Batman faces down a villainous new threat, the Choker! Green Lantern digs deep when Nekron arrives to consume the World Tree! The Justice League teams up with a familiar face in order to save the day! Shazam ventures into a top-secret facility to face off against a mind-blowing (and brain-burgling) enemy! The Flash uses her time-bending speed abilities to attempt to reverse the tragedies of her past, but may rob herself of her powers in the process! Chaos ensues when Wonder Woman becomes the editor of the National Exposer!

Context.
Heading into this issue it is important to know that between September 2001 and September 2002 writer Stan Lee, most famous for his Marvel Comics creative contributions, and a series of top-notch artists released several one-shots showing what the DC Universe would have looked like if Stan Lee had created it from scratch with only the nom de guerre go on.
Those issues were collected in two omnibus type collections most recently in 2021.
Multiversity Guidebook.
Stan Lee’s DC characters were also included in 2015’s Multiversity Guidebook a Who’s Who in the DC Universe type book.
These “Just Imagine” characters now resided on, and continue to reside today on, Earth 6.
Why Now?
Stan Lee was born on December 28, 1922 and passed away on November 12, 2018.
Had he lived to 2022, he would have been 100 years old something the comics world, including Marvel as per the above, has been celebrating in December 2022.
Tales From Earth 6: A Celebration Of Stan Lee #1 Spoilers and Review.
Now on top DC Comics’ commemoration of Stan Lee’s 100th birthday.
There are several stories in the book.
Featuring the core Stan Lee Just Imagine characters.
They are all done-in-one stories by solid creative teams on story and art.
It is a mixed bag of an issue, but a satisfying read.
I had hoped that this one-shot would have signaled more from Earth 6 in 2023.
However, that did not come to pass.
There is potential for the stories to continue.
One story even end with a question mark after the word “End”.
Stan Lee’s contribution to comics is clear and in recent years his artistic partners have finally gotten their recognition and due.
The last story was an amazing JLA story rendered by one of my all-time fave pencillers Jerry Ordway.
Earth 6 still exists in the Dawn of DC era post Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths #7 event finale (full spoilers here) and in Dark Crisis: Big Bang #1 (full spoilers here).
I’m intrigued by the possibilities for Earth 6 in the Dawn of DC.
The Pulse.
An entertaining read by top creators, but inconsequential in terms of the broader DC continuity it would seem. Happy birthday Stan. 7 out of 10.
