G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #300 Spoilers and Review.
As many readers of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series would know, the original Snake Eyes died during 2015’s Death of Snake Eyes arc in issues #212-215 of the series.
He was replaced by a Latina female Snake Eyes during the arc whose real name is Dawn Moreno.
Well, looks Doctor Mindbender has brought the original Snake Eyes back in clone form.
He’s every bit as real as the original Snake Eyes including having his memories despite Doctor Mindbender believing he accounted for that and that Snake Eyes is now a Cobra ally.
Cobra Emperor is dubious himself a clone creation of the most cunning and ruthless leaders and minds from history including Julius Caesar, Hannibal and Attila the Hun.
Serpentor’s reluctance and dare I say fear was well placed as Snake Eyes turns on and devastates his Cobra “creators”.
We also see the female Snake Eyes in the skirmish between Cobra and G.I. Joe.
Both Snake Eyes side with G.I. Joe naturally.
Scarlett is very pleased to see the original Snake Eyes back.
Their reunion is poignant.
G.I. Joe has Cobra on the ropes.
They even have Cobra Commander in custody.
Serpentor is happy to go down in flames quite literally if it takes G.I. Joe with him.
It’s quite astonishing that IDW’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #300 ends of a cliffhanger intimating that the new license holder for comics, whomever that will be, may pick up the series that began in June 1982 under Marvel and revived in 2010 by IDW with G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #155 1/2 for FCBD.
The current run has been technically an ongoing series from July 2010’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #156 from the same writer that originated the series in Larry Hama.
The Pulse:
Curious what’s next for this series now that the IDW era is over. I found the story compelling and accessible if one hasn’t been up to speed on recent developments of the series. The art was ok, but strength of the book was plot and characterization. 7.5 out of 10.
