Lazarus Planet: Assault On Krypton #1 Spoilers and Review.
The book opens with a story featuring Dreamer.
She is someone who can see possible future through her dreams.
However, the future is dark and requires her to find out what happened to Doctor Fate.
She finds Dr. Khalid Nassour, but Nabu, ths spirit in the Doctor Fate helmet, tells her that he is in his own head and doesn’t know he’s a hero.
The next story features Jon Kent as Superboy/man.
Looks like the Lazarus Volcano’s eruption has caused the thief he was chasing to temporarily gain super-powers.
It also seems to have permanently changed Jon Kent’s powers to one of an electric nature that continues in his upcoming mini-series.
Lex Luthor bodyguard Mercy Graves is the next spotlit character.
She is impacted by the Lazarus eruption as well while sparing her boss.
Through the story, she protects Lexcorp employees from beasts running amok in Lexcorp tower.
She keeps her new super-powers a secret from Lex Luthor for now it seems.
The final spotlight is on Power Girl.
Her complicated backstory is noted to open the tale.
As is her recent Lazarus Planet team-up with Shazam and Zatanna.
The story involves her entering and exiting a mysterious realm which leads to her being greeted by one-time Titans member Omen.
This story continues as one of the tales in Action Comics #1051 which becomes an anthology series of sorts for Dawn of DC.

An action packed issue with vary creative teams setting up what’s next for Dreamer, Superboy/man, Mercy Graves and Power Girl. Ecclectic stories from ecclectic creatives teams. Intrigued by what’s next for the Superman coroner of Dawn of DC. Purpose of oneshot was more promotional I think and some stories appear stronger than others (Superboy/man and Power Girl), but I remain intrigued by Mercy’s next chapter too. 7 out of 10.
