Bob Byington’s last three feature films will be available via OnDemand on June 25. Lousy Carter, Infinity Baby and Francis Ferguson feature three different tales with a bit of crossover in cast. David Krumholtz, Steven Root, Martin Starr and Nick Offerman pop up in them. This is a great way to see three interesting films this summer without leaving your air conditioning. Here’s the press release from Magnolia:
- On Demand Release: June 26
- Synopsis: In Lousy Carter, David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) stars as a ne’er-do-well literature professor adrift on a soulless college campus who learns he only has six months to live. With the clock ticking, will he change his ways? Probably not.
- On Demand Release: June 26
- Synopsis: Ben, portrayed by Kieran Culkin (“Succession”, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), is a serial monogamist and manager at Infinity Baby. Owing to a genetic mix-up involving stem cell research, the recently founded company Infinity Baby is able to offer a service for aspiring parents who never want to leave the baby bubble – infants that do not age. When employees hatch an easy-money scheme involving unwanted inventory, things go awry.
- On Demand Release: June 26
- Synopsis: Nick Offerman’s (“Parks and Recreation”) narration adds savor to Bob Byington’s (Infinity Baby) bone-dry comedy about a Nebraska substitute teacher (Kaley Wheless, The Highway Men) whose crushing discontent drives her to an ill-advised transgression. This SXSW Audience Favorite also stars David Krumholtz (Lousy Carter) and Martin Starr (“Freaks and Geeks”).
