Poliziottesco became the hot wave in Italian cinema in the wake of Dirty Harry dominating the global box office. But then a second American film arrived to alter the cop genre once more. The French Connection gave a cat and mouse game involving a cop going after a heroin operation. Enzo G. Castellari’s High Crime went one step further in the game by hiring Fernando Rey from The French Connection to help fighting the smack flowing through the country. Franco Nero (Django) plays the cop looking to shut it all down. Even though it was released in the summer of 1973 in Italy, High Crime is finally getting imported to America. The best news is that the movie will be presented on 4K UHD (along with Blu-ray and DVD) so you’ll be able to fully appreciate Franco Nero going after the smack dealers.
