Arrow Video has Cheap Thrills along with 4K UHDs of Under Siege, Evil Dead Rise and Snakes On A Plane in January

Disc Announcements, News

What does 2026 hold for you? Who knows. This isn’t a horoscope. What does 2026 hold for your home video collection? I can tell you four things that might be joining your stacks. First off is Under Siege. If you are curious about the movies of Steven Seagal, you only need to watch Under Siege. This is the only movie you need to see of his. He’s a cook on the battleship USS Missouri, but he’s got a past that comes in handy. Ship’s officer Gary Busey conspires with Tommy Lee Jones and a group of goons to hijack the vessel. They got plans for the missiles. The only hope for humanity is Seagal who is a former Navy Seal to take them out. Erika Eleniak from Baywatch appears as a Playboy Playmate who must help Seagal. After making Under Siege, director Andrew Davis made The Fugitive with Tommy Lee Jones and Harrison Ford. Seagal would never make a film this great again.

Evil Dead Rise brings the movie series to a new generation without Ash. This time it’s about two sisters who get involved with the nasty Deadites. Turns out the basement of one sister has a secret vault that contains a copy of the Necronomicon and vinyl records of a priest reading passages. This is worse than finding a copy of Emerson Lake and Palmer’s Love Beach at a used record store. The demons possess family members. Director Lee Cronin does a spectacular job capturing what makes the Evil Dead movies (and the TV series) so much fun and horrific.

I originally saw Snakes On A Plane at a drive-in theater. It was a perfect thrill ride as it combined the ’70s airport disaster film with an animals attack movie. Now the film is coming to 4K UHD so you can fully appreciate what happens when hundreds of venomous snakes are stuck on a plane. Why are they on the plane? Because a mobster needs to kill a witness that can put him in the electric chair. His only chance of surviving is Samuel L. Jackson being Samuel L. Jackson. The film has so many different snakes killing passengers in so many different ways. Snakes On A Plane remains a great cinematic experience.

Cheap Thrills seems more vital now than when it came out over a decade ago. An auto mechanic gets laid off and has an eviction notice slapped on his apartment door. What is he going to do to provide for his nearly homeless family? While having a drink with an old buddy at a bar, his salvation shows up in the form of a rich guy (David Koechner, Anchorman) and his wife. He wants to make a little competition between the two guys by daring them to do things for a cash reward. First, it’s fun and mischievous things. But the dares get even more disturbing as the money goes up. Is this guy willing to do extreme acts to save his family? Cheap Thrills seems like the perfect film for 2026.

Snakes On A Plane [Limited Edition]

An FBI agent takes on a plane full of deadly venomous snakes, deliberately released to kill a witness who is to testify against a mob boss.

cover art

SIT BACK. RELAX. ENJOY THE FRIGHT.

A viral sensation before it even finished shooting, Snakes on a Plane was one of the first major Hollywood films shaped as much by internet buzz as by studio edict. Stuntman-turned-director David R. Ellis (Final Destination 2) delivers a delirious high-concept thriller that gleefully melds the disaster movie with creature-feature excess.

Samuel L. Jackson (Deep Blue Sea, Pulp Fiction) is FBI agent Neville Flynn, escorting a key witness in the case against a ruthless crime lord on a commercial jet from Hawaii to Los Angeles. But at 30,000 feet, justice takes a backseat when the mobsters unleash a writhing cargo of venomous snakes into the cabin. With passengers dropping like flies and the cockpit compromised, Flynn and a ragtag band of terrified travelers are forced to enter a fight for survival against nature’s deadliest stowaways.

Outrageous, shamelessly entertaining, and featuring one of the most quotable lines in cinema history, Snakes on a Plane is an instant cult classic that more than earns its reputation as one of Hollywood’s craziest action-disaster movies.
