The Land of Sometimes brings an all star audio cast to the animated film. Included in the cast is Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles), Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting) and Helana Bonham Carter (Fight Club). The Land of Sometimes was based off an audio book which explains how Monty Python’s Terry Jones was about to voice his characters years after his passing. Reminiscent of beloved classic adventures such as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and The Wizard of Oz, THE LAND OF SOMETIMES is directed by Leon Joosen, produced by Tony Nottage and Nottage Productions, and executive produced by Alan Yentob (Imagine, Mel Brooks And Me), Bonnie Arnold (Toy Story, How To Train Your Dragon), Two Daughters executive chairman James Reatchlous and CEO Simon Bobin, and Kaleidoscope Film Distribution CEO Spencer Pollard. The film blends timeless storytelling with rich animation to create a heartfelt cinematic experience for modern audiences.
The story follows twins Alfie and Elise, whose lives are turned upside down when they summon a mysterious Wish Collector and are whisked away to a fantastical realm brimming with unforgettable creatures, surprises at every turn, and an unexpected revelation. As the twins journey through this enchanting world, they discover a truth more powerful than any wish: the enduring strength of family.
Adding to the magic is a vibrant musical score, featuring original songs by singer-songwriter Francesca Longrigg, along with new songs by legendary lyricist and EGOT-winner Tim Rice (Aladdin, The Lion King, Evita) and Pete Hobbs (Jean, Easy A). THE LAND OF SOMETIMES marks Rice’s return to animated features after 25 years, making the film a special milestone for musical storytelling.
The film celebrated its World premiere at the 42nd Annual KidFilm Festival on January 17th, 2026, and will enjoy a theatrical run at the Laemmle Glendale Theatre in Los Angeles from March 20–26, offering families the chance to experience the magic on the big screen before its home release.
