After putting in his time at Troma and getting hot with screenplays including the live action Scooby-Doo and the remake of Dawn of the Dead, James Gunn was able to direct major feature film. Slither was a disturbing horror film about intergalactic slug creatures that invade a small town. The film starred Nathan Fillion (Firefly), Michael Rooker (Henry Portrait of the Serial Killer) and Elizabeth Banks (Cocaine Bear).
