WWE Notes: Josh Matthews Update, ECW DVD Info, And A WWE Firing

– Tom Prichard was let go yesterday by WWE. Prichard had been working with the company in talent development, training and scouting wrestlers, recently doing several seminars for wrestlers looking for a break. Tommy Dreamer appears to be taking over his duties, after this surprising move.

– The following are notes for the upcoming ECW DVD: Six-hours will be included on two discs, featuring seven complete matches:

Raven & Stevie Richards vs. Pitbulls in a best of three fall dog collar match (1995)
Rey Misterio Jr. vs. Psicosis in 2/3 falls (1995)
Sandman vs. Mikey Whipwreck ladder match (1995)
2 Cold Scorpio vs. Sabu (1996)
Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer in their final ECW confrontation (1997)
Taz vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (1998 PPV)
Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn (1999 Hardcore Heaven PPV)

– The WWE October Fanatix series PPV will be called “My name is Eugene.” This series is usually tied into DVD releases.

– Josh Matthews returned to Byte This! yesterday wearing a neck brace to sell his injury at the hands of Heidenreich.

– Bill Simmons on ESPN.com wrote a story about the top 84 moments of 1984, which included Hogan pinning Iron Sheik, Roddy Piper hitting Jimmy Snuka with a coconut on Piper’s Pit, and the debut of Tuesday Night Titans on the USA Network.
