The Weekly Pulse: TV's Second Wife

Archive

It’s funny. I have not watched a SINGLE second of the NBA season this year, but yet..one weekend I ALWAYS watch! This past weekend was the “NBA All-Star Weekend”. I love this part of the NBA season. And usually..it’s the last part of the season I will watch until the playoffs. I love the slam dunk and the 3-point contests. The others they have added are pretty good too. I watched them as a kid and I continue to watch them today. Brings back great memories for me. So I was all about some basketball earlier this week!

Yep..’Grey’s Anatomy’ continues to RULE! They beat ‘Desperate Housewives’ again and let ABC beat NBC and The Olympics in the coveted “adults 18-49” demographic again. The show is becoming so good..I’m thinking about recapping it. Hey..we continue to recap ‘Desperate Housewives’ and ‘Lost’. ‘Grey’s Anatomy get the same or sometimes better ratings than those two shows for ABC. So why shouldn’t it get recapped?

Okay..got off the horn with Murtz and I WILL be recapping ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ for the rest of the season. Patrick Puhl used to do it, but he went missing back in November and there has been roughly 9 new episodes since then. A lot to catch up on, but I will do my best. So look for that on Sunday.

But now lets get this thing going. Not a whole of talking from me this week, but others had plenty to say. So take a look at the week that was at IPTV!

Seinfeld Quote of the Week

“Do you ever just get down on your knees and thank god that you know me and have access to my dementia?”George to Jerry

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Columns a.k.a. We Still Rolling!!

How about another IPTV Special?! I, along with Romo, Kevin Wong, Craig Russell, and Patrick Gilchriest got together, through e-mail, and talked about the merger of The WB and UPN. It’s called The CW. And this is our “roundtable” discussion of it!

Sarah Quigley comments on ‘Beauty and the Geek 2’. It’s down to the final three teams. See who she thinks will win along with other thoughts about the show!

Matt Basilo has a short column this week due to the fact that many shows are on repeats because of The Olympics..more than likely. He talks about ‘Lost’, ’24’, and ‘Survivor’, though!

DeeDee talks a little bit about ‘American Idol’. There is no doubt who she wants to win. She probably wants that person to win for the same reason I want Becky to win. But I would put my money more on her pick anyways, but only because he can sing. Oh..and she also has some thoughts on ‘Skating with Celebrities’!

Dora Malone is a loser! She said so herself! She finally admits that she stinks at predictions involving ‘Survivor’. Yet..she still runs down the remaining contestants. But that could all change next week!

Patrick Gilchriest watched ‘Survivor’ last week like he usually does. And he comes back to comment on the past episode before tonight’s new episode!

Kevin Wong is bored and it’s The Olympics’ fault! He can’t wait until next week when they will be all over with and new episodes of TV shows return! He also comments on the last episode of ‘Survivor’ as well!

Recaps a.k.a. Wait Until Next Week!!

John Duran has more ‘Lost’ for you! Don’t lose out on it! And, of course, he has the usual ‘Desperate Housewives’ as well! Feel his pain or not!

Matt Basilo recaps the newest episode of ‘Smallville’!

Romo, Murtz, and Rob Purchase all get together to recap ‘Lost’ this week! Do they all live close to each other? That would be some crazy fun..eh?!

I bring you more ‘Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet II’ action and excitement!

Kevin Wong does his first recap of ‘American Idol’ this year. Maybe we will get more from him soon!

Bob Reiss is back to do a LIVE recap of ‘Survivor’! Catch it here in case you missed it!

This week we had 1 DVD review, but it’s a good one!

Murtz got his hands on Grey’s Anatomy – Season 1! Lucky..lucky..lucky! Check out his review of it now!

Celebrities a.k.a. Eliza and That OTHER Guy!!

Murtz and former ‘Survivor’, Eliza, return with their thoughts on episode #4 of ‘Survivor’.

The Weekly Pulse Weekly Poll

Last week..I asked the question…”how much do you think a show’s timeslot affects how successful a show is?” And here are the results:

A LOT! – 5
Just a LITTLE bit! – 1
NOT at all! – 0

So everyone thinks that a show’s timeslot affects how successful a show is in the long run. And mostly everyone thinks it’s one of the main factors! Everyone agrees with me again!

Now for this week’s question. It’s a simple one. Since I will be recapping this show on Sunday..I want to know actually watches it. So here is this week’s question…“do you watch ‘Grey’s Anatomy’?” Click on the link and VOTE! Remember..VOTE OR DIE!

Time to Talk a.k.a. A FIRST For Me!!

Since there is not a lot to talk about this week and I don’t feel all that well right now, I will make this short. I won’t be talking about anything really. I mean..I DO have to get the first season of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ on DVD and watch it so I can be all caught up by the time I recap it on Sunday. So I have a lot to do with little time to do it.

As I write this, I am watching the results show of ‘American Idol’ The first two girls and guys get voted off tonight. And since I have nothing to talk about, I decided to do a first for me and that is do some predictions! I know..I can hear you all moan and groan. No one is right on their predictions here and I probably won’t be either. But here comes nothing. Here on my predictions (Not really who sings the best, but who will stay the longest):

Best GuyAce Young

American Idol 5 Winner – Ace Young

I think a guy is going to win it this year. It will be tough as a number of girls are good this year, but I think a guy will win it this year. You got to mix it up. And Ace can actually sing, plus he has the “look”. Of course, that means he probably won’t win. But as long as a guy wins..I will be happy.

That’s all I got this week. Any comments, questions, or suggestions are always welcome.

“Life Ain’t Always Beautiful, but It’s a Beautiful Ride!”

And as always remember…“You Can’t Fight Fate!”. See you next week!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
