– Sir Derek Jacobi (I, Claudius, Cadfael, Gosford Park, Gladiator) has signed on to play the lead villain, Marcus, in the upcoming Underworld sequel. The film is expected to include a long opening prequel segment set in medieval times where armour-clad vampire armies battle with packs of werewolves in an all out war. The rest will be modern day using cast from the first film.
– Nicolas Cage has lined up his next project, titled Next.Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day, xXx2) will direct the adaptation of sci-fi author Philip K. Dick’s story The Golden Man. Cage will play a man who has the ability to see into the future, and change it accordingly. However, he soon is forced into that most difficult of choices between saving the world or saving himself.
