Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) is set to join the comedy Benchwarmers, according to Variety. Rob Schneider and David Spade will also star as misfit athletes, and Craig Kilborn and Jon Lovitz round out the cast.

The comedy is about three guys who try to make up for their lack of athleticism in school by forming a three-man baseball team to challenge youth teams. Dennis Dugan (National Security, Saving Silverman) will be directing based on a script by Allen Covert and Nick Swardson.

Francis Lawrence (Constantine) will reunite with Warner Bros. to adapt a feature film adaptation of Philip Ardagh’s children’s fantasy novel A House Called Awful End, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Matthew Huffman wrote the adaptation, which will be titled Awful End. The movie will involve both live action and animation. The story will center on an 11-year-old British boy who finds himself in the questionable care of Mad Uncle Jack and Mad Aunt Maud when his parents become ill. The relatives turn him over to St. Horrid’s Home for Grateful Orphans, where he stages a breakout with other orphans.

The book is the first of the Eddie Dickens Trilogy The second book is titled Dreadful Acts, and the third hasn’t been published yet.
