Buoyed by the successes of “All-Star” formats on Survivor, Big Brother, and Real World/Road Rules Challenge, The (four time Emmy Award winning) Amazing Race 11 will feature teams from previous seasons, a concept that I believe was first championed after Season Two.
Teams confirmed to be competing:
Rob and Amber a.k.a. Romber, Season 7. This will be their fifth reality show (in terms of taping), btw.
David and Mary a.k.a. Kentucky, Season 10
Teams rumoured to be competing:
Joe and Bill a.k.a. Team Guido, Season 1
John Vito and Jill, Season 3
Mirna and Charla, Season 5
Colin and Cristie, Season 5
Uchenna and Joyce, winners, Season 7
Brian and Greg, Season 7
Lynn and Alex, Season 7
Teams confirmed NOT to be competing:
Jonathan and Victoria, Season 5 (Victoria just gave birth, although they were willing to give it a go.)
Chip and Kim, winners, Season 6
BJ and Tyler a.k.a. the Hippies, winners, Season 9
I’d also assume that teams that have gone splitsville since competing are out. Although I’d guess that Reichen and Lance would be good for ratings.
Curiously, there hasn’t been a new episode of The Finish Line on CBS’ Innertube since the Race was assumed to have started taping. As Jon Weiss (Season 4) is one of the hosts of the series, could the Clowns have been chosen for once of the spots in this new season?
Overall, there hasn’t been any substantial confirmations or rumours about participating teams from Seasons Two, Four, Six, Eight or Nine, although I have read on message boards about “hot Amish twins” participating, which could point to Kami and Karli (Season 5) or Lena and Kristy (Season 6). Not that Lena and Kristy are twins, or Amish (nor are the twins). But they do look similar, and are Mormons, so it could conceivably be them. Then again, I’ve read that Dustin and Kandice may also get a second shot.
The Amazing Race 11 is set to debut in the Spring of 2007.
