The Rock recently sat down with IGN Filmforce to discuss his upcoming movies and future acting career aspirations, as well as his future with WWE.
In the interview, The Rock says “I’m done” with the WWE, as his contract expired last year.
The Rock, whose real name is Dwayne Johnson, is eager to prove his versatility as an actor, as demonstrated by his roles in four upcoming movies. In the film Be Cool, he plays a homosexual country-singing bodyguard. He is currently in Prague shooting Doom. After which, he will be doing a movie called Gridiron Gang, which Johnson says is “a true story… about hope.” Finally, he plans to be in another video game movie, John Woo’s Spy Hunter.
In discussing his future in Hollywood, The Rock has some surprising plans. “I’d love to do something with Will Ferrell. We have a couple of ideas. There was a movie, yeah, and it’s a constant process. Sometimes I bog my own self down because I’ve got so much s*** in my head, man. What’s going on here? Action-wise, I would love to do something with Jason Statham. I really, really like what he does. He was the guy from The Transporter. Yeah, I met him one time. He was really, really cool. Johnny Bravo is another one that’s coming up. Do you guys know Johnny Bravo? Yeah, I’m not doing a cartoon on it, but yeah it’s great; Very, very funny.”
