[WWE] Late-night News Dump

Archive

– Eric Bischoff, who is signed to a six-figure deal, will likely be back in some capacity. No word on when, although his most direct ties to talent on the RAW roster are his currently suspended “nephew” Eugene Dinsmore and Three Minute Warning, who returned to action at this week’s RAW tapings.

– Dusty Rhodes is currently the favorite to become GM of RAW.

– Former TNA prospect Sonny Siaki should be joining the WWE roster soon, having been brought in with influence by Dusty Rhodes.

– According to the Village Voice, Ted DiBiase has asked WWE for rights to his old theme song.

– More on the Matt Hardy/Undertaker situation: after Matt rolled out of the ring at Survivor Series rather than take a chokeslam (Matt reportedly thought it would hurt his character to be in that situation, and then was reamed out by Taker, thus hanging his head and keeping quiet), Taker saw a tape of the show and told Matt what would you do if you were in my place. About 8 minutes were edited out of the Hardy/Orton match that happened shortly thereafter, and in a promo on that episode of Smackdown, Randy didn’t make any mention of Hardy, his opponent for later in the night.

– Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC will be a RAW-branded special, since NBC doesn’t want to promote a show (Smackdown) on a rival network (UPN).

– Moolah and Mae Young recently recorded about 10 hours of video, possibly for DVD segments.

– After Eddie Guerrero’s death, some wrestlers felt that more could have been done to reschedule European shows so more wrestlers could attend the funeral.

– In his book, Eddie Guerrero put over CM Punk, Christopher Daniels and Low Ki, as he was high on all three. Low Ki had contacted WWE in late 2005 asking if there was a slot for him.

– The USA Network deal is a two-year deal with a one-year option.
