Free 12 Page Comic Book Part Of Legendary Creator Karl Kesel’s Update On Section Zero 1959 With Tom Grummett After Successful Kickstarter!

The update follows.

      SEASON’S GREETINGS 1959 (+ 60 Years)!

      Happy Holidays!

I love the Holidays because it’s the only time of year everyone is as frantic and panicked as I feel every single day!

Seriously: I do enjoy the festive fun from Halloween (probably my son’s favorite holiday) through Thanksgiving (because I love to cook!) and Christmas (Rudolph, Yukon Cornelius and the Bumble diorama set up? Check!), ending in early January (right around the time of my birthday, coincidentally enough).

The real fun part, of course, is trying to get work done while all that’s going on!

And I’ll admit we are far, far behind where I wanted to be on SECTION ZERO 1959. The reason is simple: Tom agreed to draw the ARCHIE 1955 mini-series, and it took up more time than he expected. In fact, it took up nearly all his time.

But that’s about to change. As I write this, Tom is just back from a comic show in France (the sort of recognition he’s long overdue, if you ask me) and he assures me it’ll be SZ59 24-7 from now on. So I assume the Archie mini is finished! Good news for everyone!

Of course, I promised to send you PDFs of each chapter as they’re finished. But even with Tom back on full-time at full speed, with inking and coloring and lettering it would take a miracle for you to see any new, finished SECTION ZERO story in less than a couple months.

It’s Christmas, Theo! It’s the time of miracles!

(As one of my very favorite Christmas movies says.)

As it happens, when I knew Tom’s other work was going to push SZ59 back considerably, I decided to throw together a little something to tide you over. Tom and I (along with Bill Crabtree and the fine folk at Comicraft) are proud to present a special 12-page SECTION ZERO Christmas story:

…This story is not set in 1959— it’s about the present-day team. I thought it would be fun to check in on them and see how they’re doing since the end of the first SECTION ZERO book. Besides, the Holidays are all about getting together with family and friends— and for Tom and myself, at least, these characters definitely qualify as both.

Happy Holidays— from our family, to yours.

      Karl Kesel

Special Thanks to Charlie Stickney, writer of the great WHITE ASH comic (next Kickstarter coming in January 2020!). Read the story, you’ll see why.

Here’s that free 12 page story.

The original expected delivery date for this Panic Button Press project was in January 2020, but this free story is a great way to start off the new year!
