James Fulton

  • Chu #1 – I miss Chew, so I’m happy to see that John Layman is returning to that world with this new series; perhaps it will take some of the sting out of the news that Outer Darkness is not returning – I loved that series.
  • Empyre: X-Men #1 – Yeah, I’m falling deeper into the crossover event, but that’s largely because Jonathan Hickman is writing this tie-in book. I thought it weird that so far, no one has mentioned that the Summers’ house is in the Moon’s Blue Area, even with all the stuff that’s happening there.
  • I’m also looking forward to new issues of Daredevil, Decorum, Die, Doctor Aphra, Empyre, Hellions, Low, New Mutants, Tartarus, Wolverine, and X-Men/Fantastic Four.

John Babos – Since I believe that the flowers that permeate the X-titles hasn’t fully been explained yet, perhaps they have a connection to the Cotati? Also, you’re not falling that far into the Empyre event if you’re not picking up the core mini-series’ second issue out this week too.

Fulton – I think that’s where it’s headed, based on the solicitation.

  • Empyre #2, Empyre Avengers #1, Empyre X-Men #1, Lords Of Empyre Emperor Hulking #1 – I have to admit, when I saw the solicits for Empyre I thought it was basically Avengers Vs Fantastic Four, and we’ve had enough stories like that in Marvel to last a life time. But the first issue had a lot of nice little twists, especially when it came to deciding who the real enemy was here. I didn’t want to be this engaged in this series, but the first issue hooked me, much to my surprise.
  • Hellions #2 – So what’s it like being a comic fan in the Coronaverse? I see that Hellions #2 is coming out this week. I don’t even remember Hellions #1 coming out. I check my online log, and yes, it came out on March 25, and I liked it enough to rate it five stars. And I don’t remember a damn thing about that comic.
  • Chu #1 – After Outer Darkness, I went back and read Chew and loved every minute of it. Glad we’re getting a little more look into the crazy world of Chew here. Definitely the book I am most looking forward to this week.
