Here are the highlights from Bones Comic-Con panel:
– The creators talked about the disapproval of the fans for the hookup of Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) during the season finale. “I hope in retrospect the season finale will become more and more likable to our loyal fans,” the creators said. “Though I think the loyal fans got it. The people who tune in every once in awhile didn’t like it as much. And I definitely heard about it.” “I think it was somewhat anticipated on a level. We knew that some people would be upset,” Emily told us after the panel. “It’s a tricky thing.”
– Will the relationship continue? “I think they are two people that do belong together,” said Emily. “I think they complement each other in great ways. I would love to see them together. But I do see that it’s dangerous. It’s tricky because you don’t want to lose the sexual tension between us.” “It would be odd if Booth and Brennan were a married couple. It would definitely change the show, but it’s something that we’ve thought long and hard about. I don’t know. I think I’d like to see them together, but maybe really together toward the end.”
– Next season will pick up six weeks later and after Bones returns from a trip to Guatemala. We also know that her baby plans are on hold and that Booth is still in a state of confusion at the season opener.
– A notable guest star next season will be Cyndi Lauper, who plays a psychic who is involved in a case and also gives her insight on the pair.
