According to Michael Ausiello, the upcoming fifth season of Friday Night Lights will be its last. Although the network has not made any formal announcements, sources are saying that the show’s cast is being told that they may pursue other projects after they wrap in June.
The fourth season is currently airing on DirecTV and will premiere on NBC on April 30. Recently, news broke that FNL’s Zach Gilford (Matt Saracen) and Minka Kelly (Lyla Garrity) were both leaving the show to star in new pilots on ABC and CBS, respectively.
