Depp Seeks Cameo in 21 Jump Street Movie

News, Rumors

In an interview for this week’s Entertainment Weekly, Johnny Depp spoke about the upcoming 21 Jump Street film, which is of course, based on the ’80s TV Series that launched the actor’s career. In the interview he stated he would be interested in a cameo.

“I’m hoping they’ll let me do a cameo,” Depp said. “Someone will say, ‘Whatever happened to Tom Hanson?’ and they’ll find me somewhere hoarding jars of peanut butter and shaking in my underpants.”

Actor Jonah Hill is writing the script and could star in it as well.

The Pulse: It’s things like this that cement my love for this man. Depp is easily the greatest actor of his generation, yet he can still joke about his humble beginnings.

As far as the Jump Street film, my interests are temped at best, even with Jonah Hill on board. However, if Depp was indeed to have a cameo then I’d certainly have to check it out.

Sound off: Do you want to see Depp in a cameo role in the 21 Jump Street movie, or would you rather see his replacement, Richard “If Looks Could Kill” Grieco?
