Finally, the long planned encounter between Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion Dan Henderson and Fedor Emelianenko is set and the two will meet July 30th at the Sears Centre in Chicago. While the fight hasn’t been officially announced, the promotion should be confirmed in the coming days and is expected to be contested at 220 lbs.
Henderson is riding a two-fight winning streak over Renato “Babalu” Sobral and Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante.
Fedor is coming off consecutive losses for the very first time in his storied career. After a loss last June to Fabricio Werdum via submission, Fedor returned in February and was defeated by TKO at the hands of Antonio “Big Foot” Silva in the quarterfinals of Strikeforce’s Heavyweight Grand Prix.
Roger Gracie will take on former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal” while Feijao will face off against up-and-comer Ovince St. Preux.
