Amazon is having another “buy this DVD/BD, get a free movie ticket” promotion, this time with Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens. If you purchase one of 35 select DVDs or Blu-rays between now and September 25, 2011, you can receive a promotional code for a free ticket to see one of the final summer blockbusters of 2011. The bad news? The promotional ticket is only good for up to $10, meaning people in larger cities will still have to shell out some cash to see Cowboys & Aliens.

Here are the official rules for this promotion:

Step 1: Complete your purchase of any of the 35 titles below between July 10, 2011 and Septempber 25, 2011.

Step 2: Once shipment of the DVD occurs you will receive an e-mail within approximately 48 hours containing your promotional code; click the link contained in the email to go to the website www.cowboysandaliensmoviecash.com and redeem your promotional code.

Step 3: On the movie cash website, follow the instructions to enter your promotional code and other required information and and print your certificate.

Some of the highlights of the promotion include Inglorious Basterds 2-disc Special Edition Blu-ray ($12.99), Jaws 30th Anniversary Edition DVD ($7.49), Robin Hood: Unrated Director’s Cut Blu-ray/DVD Combo, and Digital Copy ($15.99), Apollo 13: 15th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray ($17.99), and Children of Men Blu-ray ($15.49). Prices range from $7.49 to $25.09, and the offer is only available in the United States.

Cowboys & Aliens, starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Olivia Wilde, hits theatres July 29, 2011. The film takes place in the Arizona outback in 1873 as a group of cowboys tries to thwart an alien invasion.
