Adam Yauch’s Music Saved By His Will

Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys passed away on May 4th 2012, of cancer. His will, which was filed on Tuesday states that Yauch’s music and ‘artistic property’ cannot be used for advertising. A copy of his will reads: “Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, in no event may my image or name or any music or any artistic property created by me be used for advertising purposes.” Yauch’s $6.4 million estate was left to his wife and daughter.
