TVLine’s Michael Ausiello caught up with the show’s creator and general wonder woman, Shonda Rhimes, where he asked about what the future holds for Alex and Jo in the new season.
“Alex and Joe are in an interesting place — though I don’t know if I would talk about them in terms of their relationship just yet, just because thats not really the focus at the moment,” the Grey’s creator said. “Cristina has left him these shares and the seat on the board, and what that means for him is complex. Does he want that? Is that what he’s looking for? Did he want the money grab that [private practice] provided him, or does he want to be the guy who has a seat on the board? It’s a big deal for him to figure out what he wants.”
While Rhimes hints at it, clearly Alex’s new role will have a profound effect on his relationship as he must decide whether to stay working in the private sector or return to Seattle Grace and work alongside his girlfriend.
