Dan Henderson Shows No Signs Of Slowing Down At Age 44, Planning January Comeback

News

Dan Henderson wants to fight again, even if he is 44 years old.

Yesterday, the former Pride and Strikeforce champion talked to MMAFighting.com about returning to MMA and said that he was looking at accepting a fight in January and that it would “probably” be at middleweight.

Henderson (30-12) competed at middleweight for a large chunk of his professional fighting career, but hasn’t competed in the weight division since he lost by unanimous decision to then-Strikeforce champion Jake Shields in mid-2010.

Henderson has lost four of his last five UFC contests dating back to 2013, dropping back-to-back decision losses to Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans, and being handily beaten by both Vitor Belfort and Daniel Cormier.

Henderson told MMAFighting.com in October he had been negotiating with UFC officials to fight on Jan. 3 at UFC 182.
