While Miesha Tate Says She Wanted To Fight Bethe Correia, Admits Fight With Sara McMann Is Better For Her

While Miesha Tate she didn’t want to fight a wrestler in her next bout, she has been booked against ground-and-pound specialist Sara McMann at UFC 183 in Las Vegas.

While Tate’s ideal opponent was rival Bethe Correia, the desired challenger was forced to turn the Tate fight down because of an undisclosed injury leaving McMann as the only option.

For her part, Tate is trying to look at the bright side.

“[McMann] probably does more for my career fighting her, if I beat her,” Tate told FOX Sports. “She’s an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling. She’s really, really good. It says a lot beating someone of her caliber.”
