You can be forgiven if you still need to pick your jaw up off the floor after last night’s shocking How To Get Away With Murder fall finale.
The episode saw Wes and friends kill Sam and then dump his body but at the end of the episode, it was revealed that Annalise was in the house and knew about the murder the entire time.
In a recent interview with EW, showrunner Peter Nowalk answered questions about the twist.
When asked about whether Wes and Annalise were working together the entire time, Nowalk remained non-committal.
“That’s the question of the finale,” he said. “We will get the answer to that when we come back.”
When asked if Annalise coordinated the murder with Wes, Nowalk said he wants to keep fans guessing.
“Again, that’s the question I want people to wonder. When we come back in January, there will be an answer one way or another. It’s left as a dangling chad, or whatever you want to call it, so people can try to fill in those blanks themselves.”
Did Annalise go to Nate’s house simply to set-up her alibi?
“We’ll understand it more in the timeline when we come back [and see] what happened when. I will say that nothing Annalise does is one thing or the other. Why she is such a good manipulator is [because] there’s always a sense of truth in everything she does. I think she’s a complicated lady, and that’s what makes her fascinating.”
