The Column: The CW’s Riverdale Ups Toni Topaz & Reggie Mantle To Series Regulars

Welcome back people to the The Column. This is the place where we talk about everything and nothing that happens in the world.

Yes I have been away for a while but now I am back.To be completely honest,  I had some other work before I got some amazing news which I wanted to talk about.

This is about the TV Series Riverdale based on the Archie Comics Characters which is currently in its second season and has also been renewed for the third season.

The amazing news is that VANESSA MORGAN who plays Toni Topaz and Charles Melton who plays Reggie Mantle have been promoted to series regulars.

That would take the total to about 8 student series regulars including Archie Betty Jughead Veronica Cheryl and Kevin.

Now First Toni Topaz, this bisexual awesome person who strode in,  threatened Bughead,  blew up at Betty for no reason and was a character who was lacking for purpose outside the serpent similar to Cheryl Blossom outside the house. This lead to the Pairing of these two characters where cheryl comes out to her,  Toni rescues cheryl from a gay re-education camp and they kiss. This made the character infinitely better and all the more by VANESSA Morgan’s striking performance.

Reggie Mantle is part of the five in archie comics. Here riverdale made it into the core four which has always left me disappointed on one end.  Reggie is an awesome character with huge potential. He is a prankster who has legendary prank battles with jughead which are amazing. He has always been one of the gang and has a very complex personality and Charles Melton is great in the role and I am looking forward to seeing him more.

Waking up to this kind of news was the best waking up ever and I hope these guys get the spotlight they deserve
