More TNA Tidbits: Notes From Impact Taping

Archive

Former WWE star Spanky was scheduled to debut for TNA at the Impact! tapings in Orlando, Florida. Although he did not appear on TV, he was backstage. TNA filmed vignettes to promote his debut with the company. Spanky will only be working for the company when his ZERO-ONE schedule in Japan permits.

There is talk floating around that Hector Garza may return once TNA knows for sure he is free of his AAA contractual obligations. TNA is also looking to to be looking at bringing in Super Crazy (the former ECW World Television champion). There are also discussions about bringing in Extreme Tiger (Mexican wrestler) as well but that is dependent on Tiger getting his immigration paperwork taken care of so he can work in the United States. Since the AAA deal went kaput, TNA has been booking workers independently out of Mexico, which is why the original Psicosis and L.A. Park are in now.

TNA had a merchandise stand outside the taping as you entered the soundstage, selling T-shirts and DVDs. Inside the soundstage however, they only had a concession stand.

Mike Tenay and Jeremy Borash signed autographs for the fans after the show. They gave out a survey to fans as they entered the show, asking about their wrestling viewing patterns and other marketing research information. There were about 500 fans in attendance.

Similar to the Toronto Summerslam crowd booing faces, Jeff Hardy was also jeered. There was a “We Want Matt” chant.
