Big Bossman Dies

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Melzer is reporting that Ray “Big Bossman” Traylor passed away at his home tonight at the age of 42. The cause of his death is a mystery, as he had not been complaining about his health, other than a bad knee. His wife found him in a room last night, he wasn’t breathing, and paramedics were unable to revive him.

Traylor, a former prison guard in Marietta, GA, was most popular as the Big Bossman, a gimmick based on this job, and he had major programs in the WWF vs. Hulk Hogan, the Big Show, and most recently a few years ago as Booker T’s partner in his feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

He got his start as Jim Cornette’s bodyguard Big Bubba Rogers in 1986, and was also a major star with All Japan Pro Wrestling as Big Bubba in the 90s, before returning to the WWF.

InsidePulse sends its heartfelt condolences to the Traylor family.
