At the October 16 Ohio Valley Wrestling show, Matt Morgan lost the OVW Heavyweight Title to Chris Cage, in a match where his hair was on the line, and if he lost, Morgan promised to leave OVW. In the past OVW has run angles like this to explain someone being called up to WWE.
Also on the show, Nova was laid out by his Jersey Shore Crew stable, mad at him for being called up to RAW as Simon Dean, while they stayed in OVW, Johnny Nitro was in action, and the new Islam stable was featured as well.
OVW is the WWE developmental territory that John Laurinitis mentioned during Thursday’s Tough Enough IV segment on Smackdown when he gave the injured competitor a developmental deal after he was cut. For complete results of the 10.16.04 show, click here.
