Wes Anderson set to direct animated movie

Wes Anderson, director of Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, and the upcoming The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is set to make his first full-length animated movie, which will be an adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic, The Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Anderson intends to use old-fashioned stop-motion animation to bring the book to life. The story is a twisted and funny tale of a crafty fox who finds himself and his family marked for death by three evil farmers who are angry about having the wily fox kill off half their chicken stocks every night.

There is no word on when the film will begin production or other related details.
