Previously On:

Andy and Amanda talk about loneliness.
Andy and Harold talk about Ephram and Amy having sex.
Ephram and Amy talk about the possibility of having sex.

We start in with Amy and Ephram at a drive-in. They are making out in the car. The whole situation is very awkward. The sequence has some really cheesy voiceovers of the two of thei’s thoughts. The scene ends with both thinking, “I’m never going to have sex.”

And on that note”¦introduction.

Back from commercial we are shown Andy at school picking up Delia. He sees Amanda and goes over to say hi. They engage in some minor flirting.

Down the street to Jake at the café. Nina invites him to first ice skate of the year. He declines and she correctly guesses that he has a date. He feels awkward about talking to her about dating other people. Nina insists he shouldn’t feel weird about it.

Off to the Abbotts hanging out in the kitchen. Hannah is over and being shown family pictures. She seems interested in the pictures of Bright as a kid. Amy asks for Hannah to come upstairs. Amy is upset at Dr. Brown treating her like a child. Hannah and Amy are having a sleep over. They start to talk about sex and how Amy is considering going the next level with Ephram. Amy admits to feeling anxious about the idea losing her virginity.

Over at school Amy is in the Cafeteria with Ephram. She asks him, “why haven’t you tried to have sex with me?” Ephram is put aback and says she hasn’t really given him the green light. In fact she flinches when he touches her belt. Ephram tells Amy that he wants to make their first time perfect. She feels that’s too much pressure and just wants to get it over with. She mentions they should do it in a car but they agree that’s not a good idea. Amy then comes up with the idea of using the family cabin.

Now that we are left with the idea Amy and Ephram are going to be getting it on we get a word from our sponsors.

Later at the Brown homestead Ephram is talking to his dad about nothing important.
He tells Andy that he is going to stay over night with Amy at her cottage. Ephram feels honesty is the best policy in this case. Andy gives Ephram permission with a warning to be safe.

Just after that Amanda comes over and runs into Ephraim at door. Andy tells her his concerns about Ephram and Amy. She drops off his pen and his prescription pad. Amanda asks Andy if he and Delia want to go on a “play date” with her and Charlie. She claims it was Charlie’s idea.

Up to Amy’s bedroom with her and Hannah reading a book about sex and relationships.
Hannah thinks the reflex of pulling away from Ephram is a way of Amy’s subconscious saying she isn’t ready for sex. Hannah announces that she isn’t having sex till she is married. (So what are the odds Bright can change her opinion on that?) Hannah claims that her reasoning is partly due to religion and that she likes idea of only being with one person. Well I hope for your sake the one person is good.

Over at the Brown’s Britney is taking pictures of Delia as way to help her pick the perfect outfit for her date with Charlie. Flash forward 15 years and Britney is so going to end up as a stripper. Britney refers to the evening as a date, both Andy and Delia deny that it is a date.

Off in the woods and Ephram is already at the cabin waiting for Amy. He gets antsy and starts to look around the place. He looks at some family pictures. Then he suddenly gets his keys and makes it looks like he is going to leave. Uh..Oh is someone getting impatient or just cold feet?

Back in Everwood Nina is at the skating rink with her son Sam.

On the other side of town Dr. Abbott has rented some movies for him and Amy to watch. Amy tells him that she is going to sleep at Hanna’s. Harold says they can go over after dinner. The two of them badly create a lie about Nina cooking dinner for them as an excuse for leaving before dinner. Dr. Brown doesn’t seem to believe them. He asks some questions that implies he knows something is up but he lets her go.

Amy shows up at the cabin. She knocks on the door. There is no answer. The suspense in the air thickens”¦.where is Ephram?

Before we can get the answer to that question it is time for the WB to earn some money.

Back from commercial and Ephram finally opens the door. So he hasn’t bailed on Amy. He has got fire going and tried his best to make the setting romantic. He tells Amy that this is a big deal for him so he wants to make it special. Aww”¦. pretty much every young female in America is totally jealous of Amy right now.

While one of the male Browns is smoothly moving along with his date the other members of the Brown family are not having as good a time. Andy and Amanda try to get kids to talk to each other. Andy then asks about John. Amanda tells Andy that she doesn’t want to talk about him tonight. The two kids decide to run off to batting cages.

Over at the Abbott household Amy’s parents argue if Amy is ready for sex. It seems that Dr. Brown read right through Amy and Hanna’s lies. Mrs. Abbott says she trusts Amy. Harold isn’t so sure. He seems to balk at the idea that Amy is with a boy she can trust. It looks like he is going to tell his wife about Madison’s pregnancy but he does not. The two of them share a romantic moment.

It seems that dating and romance is in the air and heaven forbid that Dr. Jake be left out. He is out on a date with a young plastic-looking blonde girl. His cell phone rings. On the phone is Nina who is frantic. She is in the car with Sam whom she tells Dr. Jake is hurt. Jake tells his date he has an emergency and leaves.

Back to the double date. Charlie and Delia are over at the batting cages leaving Andy and Amanda alone. Andy has other things on his mind and is thinking about Ephram being with Amy. Amanda asks about the girl who he is dating. She is totally checking Andy out. The sexual tension is finally broken by Andy asking, “What’s happening here?” Amanda’s response is that,”she doesn’t know.” The two of them finally acknowledge the sexual tension and their mutual attraction. While this is going on Charlie is not letting Delia use the batting cage. Amanda admits to Andy that the date was her idea. She wanted to see if there was something between the two of them. Andy succinctly says, “We can’t.” Right then Delia comes in to announce Charlie is a but-hole and they are leaving

With Andy not getting any at least his son seems to be having more success. Ephram and Amy are at the cabin making out on the bed. Then Amy starts to cry. Ok what’s going on? Is she thinking of Colin perhaps? Ephram halts his advances and asks what’s wrong? Amy is not sure. She says she feels overwhelmed and isn’t sure they are ready. Ephram says they can wait. (why can’t we have the voiceover now to know what is REALLY going on in Ephram’s head?) Amy wonders what if they are never ready for sex? She starts to ask a lot of “What if?” questions. Amy asks if, “maybe we are more friends then anything?” Ephram tells Amy that they don’t have to do anything tonight. They decide to just go to sleep.

Now that no one in Everwood seems to be doing so well on their dates it is time for more commercials.

Cut back to Jake helping out Sam. Jake is showing his good bedside manner while dealing with Sam’s injury. It looks like Sam has cut himself under his chin and Jake has put stitches in for him. HEY! I had the exact same injury when I was a kid and it was also because I was playing on the ice”¦.eerie. Nina is amazed at how Jake has been able to connect with Sam so well. So she now sees him as more then just a pretty face. Sam invites Dr. Jake over for cocoa, but he takes a rain check for another time.

Back at the cabin with Ephram and Amy sleeping. They are just waking up. Ephram is caressing her. Amy declares that she is cold. Ephram is putting on a clinic on how to act towards a girl who is unsure about putting out. He jokes about her snoring and cuddles close to her to warm her up. This results in him getting “excited” if you catch my drift. He apologizes. Amy starts kissing him and gets on top of him. She tells him that she is not scared anymore and”¦. fade to black.

Back in the Brown household Andy is making sandwiches. Delia walks in and says she isn’t interested in boys. The whole idea of dating Charlie was Brittney’s idea. Ephram comes home.

While the Abbott couple are drinking coffee Amy arrives home. They pretend like they think she was at Hanna’s. Amy mentions the cabin and thinks they shouldn’t sell it. Harold agrees but then after Amy leaves the room declares that he will put the cabin on the market today.

Andy drops by to visit Amanda. He gives her a list of doctors whom he can refer her to as it seems he is ending both their professional and personal relationship.

Later that night Ephram is lying in bed. He picks up his cell phone and calls Amy. Right about now every guy in North America HATES Ephram for setting the bar WAY to high. Just remember people this is fiction not fact. Ephram is not a real person

Thoughts about the show:

Well the writers finally gave the audience what they have been waiting for since the first season. I guess they pulled it off rather well if not somewhat cheesy.

Sadly no Bright in this episode.

Looks like Dr. Jake will be sweeping Nina off her feet with his charm. Perhaps seeing Jake and Nina together will finally getting Andy to realize what he is missing.

I am assuming that Amanda won’t be around the show for very much longer. Well she was a good character while she lasted.
