– According to WrestlingObserver.com, during today’s financial conference call, Linda McMahon said that the new video on demand service WWE 24/7 would have a national release soon, but they were waiting to close more deals before announcing a launch date. At this point they have 21 cable systems on board.

– WrestlingObserver.com is reporting that Ricky Steamboat is backstage at Smackdown tonight. PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson says that he has yet to sign a deal with WWE, but is trying out for a backstage agent position (as well as making sure it’s something he likes) for the next three weeks.

– WrestlingObserver.com’s Dave Meltzer is reporting that today’s announcement by WWE that it would be increasing its dividends from 6 to 12 cents a share translates to $5.7 million a quarter for Vince McMahon, who owns most of the company’s shares.

– Upcoming WWE DVD release dates: Armageddon on 1/11, Rob Van Dam on 2/2, Royal Rumble on 3/1, No Way Out on 3/22 and Wrestlemania on 5/10.

– Tough Enough contestant Daniel Puder will be a guest on Pro Karate Weekly at 7 p.m. ET tomorrow night at www.SportsTalkCleveland.com and Prokarateweekly.com.
